Acid free
A paper manufactured to a neutral pH reading. Primarily used for permanent records and to protect materials when contact with paper acidity would be harmful.
Agricultural residues
By products from the production of food and other crops that contain fibers that can be used for papermaking.
AOX
Reported as the total amount of chlorine bound to organic compounds in waste water.
Archival Paper
Acid-free paper made to resist deterioration for documents that must last and meet special specifications / standards (ISO 9706)
Artificial regeneration
Method for producting a new stand of trees following harvesting, in which tree seedlings are planted. Most often used in even-aged silvicultural systems.
Ash
Inorganic matter present in the paper sheet, such as clay or titanium dioxide.
