- Biodiversity
- Biodiversity encompasses the diversity of life on the planet. It includes: genetic; species and community/ecosystem diversity.
- Biofuel
- Renewable fuel such as bark and wood waste.
- Black liquor
- Spent, lignin-rich cooking liquor generated in the draft pulping process.
- Bleached chemi-thermomechanical pulp
- A pulp that reduces energy consumption for certain paper grades by combining thermal pretreatment with chemical methods.
- Bleaching
- Chemical treatment of pulp fibers which results in: increased pulp brightness and stability, removing contaminates and removing residual lignin.
- Blue Angel
- A German environmental label, which covers many products, including paper.
- Broke
- Machine trim or damaged paper that is pulped and returned to the papermaking process within the mill.
